Wheels - They've arrived

You may recall a while back I ran some concept pictures of the Coupe with different wheel mock ups so I could try and decide what to buy when the time came.

The two favoured options were as below;

I really liked the modern look of the first style but thought they might be a bit busy....but then again the five spoke wheels in the second pic are a bit cliche. One thing you have to be careful with when building a rod though is not to depart too far from what has already been done as it can look downright odd, so I kept searching and finally came up with an option that I am really happy with.

They are Boze Wheels and are a custom wheel made to order by the team based at Huntington Beach California. I contacted the local agent Dale Clothier from Tradspeed here in NZ and we struck a deal to get tyres, wheels, wheel nuts and concealed valve caps all brought in as one package.

Prior to doing that though I had to strike a deal with Janine that these would be my 50th birthday present.

Allowing time for production shipping and customs clearance, with a bit of a buffer, meant I had to order way back in  February......so on Valentines Day, yep thats right, I'm a real romantic....I ordered my wheels!

Two weeks ago they arrived in the country but I wasn't allowed them until the big day came round.

My mate Roger kindly picked them up from Dale and delivered them on my birthday.

I was a bit like a big kid as you can tell from this smile...

No wonder when this is what you see when you open them! They are every bit as good as I had hoped for!

This was the first one I opened. Very nice indeed.

But it was the rear ones that stole the show. Look at the size of these babies! Huge and just gorgeous.

The six spokes aren't as busy as the 10 spoke concept above but are a bit different to the 5 spokes that everyone else has. Also bear in mind there is no brake disc in behind the rear wheels with a Jag rear, so it can look a bit empty if there is too much gap between spokes. This is a nice balance I reckon. It won't be everyones cup of tea but I like em and thats all that matters.

I'll leave you now with a few more pics to enjoy!

That's enough excitement for now....I'm off to bed...
